The second year of life is a time of rapid overall growth.  We believe toddlers learn through their own experiences, trial and error, repetition, imitation, and identification. An appropriate toddler program meets the unique characteristics and needs of children as they

develop cognitively, socially, emotionally, and physically.  We have created this program for children younger than age 3, which invites play, active exploration, and movement.

These goals are accomplished in our safe, nurturing environment through an active development approach to learning.  Just listen to your toddler giggle with delight as she/he sets forth into new experiences with our fully trained and loving Staff.

We developed a Toddler Tally to provide a more efficient channel of communication regarding the occurrences of your child’s day.  It reports the overall disposition of your children, what they ingested during AM and PM snack and lunch, how long they napped, what they need for diapering/toileting (i.e. more diapers or another change of clothes), and details of toileting throughout the day.  No need to dilly dally.  Our Toddler Tally keeps track of your child’s busy little day.

Diaper changing has never been so much fun as our toddler room staff entertains your child while changing their diaper. Our state-of-the-art changing table makes it easy, comfortable, clean, and most importantly safe.  The staff is required to wear a clean pair of latex gloves and place a fresh sheet of examining paper down for each changing.  Due to children having sensitivity to different products,

*S.E.L.C. cannot provide diapers, wipes, and ointments for each child.  It is also helpful to keep a complete change of clothing for your child at our facility.

The Toddler Tally includes details of your child’s diaper changing or toileting throughout the day.  Our toddler room staff is glad to assist you in potty training your child. We set a relaxed tone and set realistic expectations to ease your child into this developmental stage. From potty training books to a great reward system, your child will be potty trained in no time.

In today’s society, many of us often skip breakfast, the most important meal of the day. Statistics have proven that children learn and retain more information with a nutritious breakfast each morning.  S.E.L.C. recognizes this need and understands the hectic mornings of most households.  We would like to help in the best interest of both the parents and children.  Although we cannot provide your child with breakfast, your child is more than welcome to bring an already prepared breakfast to school.  Our facility does have a toaster and microwave for your convenience.

*Helpful Hints: Toaster’s Strudels, cereal with milk, yogurt, waffles, fruit, bagels, muffins, donuts, etc.

Rock-a-bye baby, at S.E.L.C.!  As the soft sounds of Mozart’s Lullabies or nature plays in the back-ground, your child drifts off to Never Neverland during our rest time.  The toddlers are gently rocked to sleep in the loving arms of our staff.  We provide a cot for each child to snuggle up on with their special pillow and blanket or sheet from home.  Sweet dreams to all!

S.E.L.C. provides two snacks throughout your child’s day.  The snacks typically complement our thematic unit. Often, your child is a part of preparing this snack.  The AM snack is nutritious and served with juice.  For instance, if the thematic unit is "Welcome Fall," your child may help make applesauce.  The PM snack may not be as nutritious, but it is guaranteed to be delicious.  From homemade ice cream to pudding, cakes and cupcakes galore, your child will always want "smore"!  Not only are we eating a yummy snack, but what better way to learn about measurements and teamwork.

Munch, munch, it’s time for lunch! Each child is required to bring in his/her own lunch.  Unfortunately, S.E.L.C. cannot supply your child with a lunch.  We recommend parents pack a nutritious lunch. Our staff oversees the children as they consume the items in their lunch from the most nutritious to the happy ending snack. We give the children one hour to eat their lunch.  Come join our lunch bunch!
